About Bendel - Corporation History

REACHING BACK TO 1962 AND THE SOUTHEAST MANUFACTURING ERA.

Bendel began manufacturing carbon steel tanks in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1963 under the name of Atlas Steel Products Company. The name was changed to Bendel Corporation in 1982 when the manufacturing division was spun-off from the parent company. Primary ownership has never changed hands. Storage Tank fabrication, pressure vessel fabrication and heat exchanger machining and fabrication are core expert services from Bendel Storage Tank & Heat Exchanger.

In 1983, a large modern new facility was built for the purpose of manufacturing custom stainless steel tanks. This move was highly successful, and in 1987, the manufacturing facility was expanded and additional office space for engineering and drafting was added.

Again in 1991, Bendel expanded its manufacturing area in order to segregate the manufacture of custom carbon steel and stainless steel tanks. The engineering and office facilities were also expanded. Over the years, Bendel has continued to modernize its facilities with buildings, machinery, equipment, and competent employees.
